What Can I Expect During The First Session?
Our first session will be geared toward getting to know each other and to see if we are a good fit. We will discuss your concerns and goals for therapy. We will go over the risks and benefits of therapy, answer any questions you may have and determine if telehealth is a right for you. We will identify a direction for changes desired and if you are agreeable, we will schedule a follow-up appointment.
What Ages of Clients Do You See?
18 plus!
How Does Teletherapy Work?
Telehealth is essentially the same as face-to-face therapy, but we will be meeting through live-video chat, like Skype or FaceTime. Sessions will be conducted through a HIPPA compliant and secure platform called Simple Practice. I know the idea of telehealth counseling can seem overwhelming; I do my best to ensure that all are comfortable with the technology before our first session. It is very user friendly, all you need is an active email address and our sessions are accessible via smart phone, tablet or computer. Please reference the following link for more information on accessing Telehealth through Simple Practice.
Telehealth Information from Simple Practice
Prior to our first session, I will ask you for your email address to send you access to set up your client portal account. You will be asked to review and sign intake documents and consent forms.
Can I Use My Insurance?
Yes, I am in network with United HealthCare, Aetna, Cigna and First Carolina Care.
It is important that you contact your insurance carrier to determine if you have mental health coverage and if your individual policy includes telehealth benefits.
